Protolabs expands manufacturing footprint in Raleigh, NC

Protolabs has signed an occupancy agreement to expand its additive manufacturing footprint in the Raleigh, N.C., area. Breaking ground later this month, the second location will add 120,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing capacity to its current facility located nearby in Morrisville, N.C. The additional location is in response to growing demand for Protolabs’ 3D printing services.

Wacker increases prices for polymeric binders and resins

Due to continuously rising energy, raw material and logistics costs, the Munich-based chemical group WACKER intends to adjust its prices for polymer dispersions, dispersible polymer powders and resins. The price increase of up to 20 percent will apply to all WACKER POLYMERS products shipped as of November 1. The temporary surcharge for dispersible polymer powders in Europe is also affected and will increase to €590 per metric ton. The price adjustment will enable the group’s polymers division to continue providing customers with high product quality, technological innovations, best-in-class customer service and technical support, along with supporting investment to secure the capability for future growth across focus markets.
