BKT donates 475 bicycles to European NGOs, associations and sports clubs

Seregno, Italy – Indian tire manufacturer BKT donates 475 “BKT bikes” to various European NGOs, associations and sports clubs.

The Group has always promoted sustainable mobility – also thanks to the right tires suitable for each application and operation – and wanted to support some European bodies to which its brand is linked, by symbolically donating branded bikes.

As Title Sponsor, BKT has donated 100 bikes to football clubs in Serie BKT, the Italian championship: a gift which wishes to highlight the brand’s role in creating an ever greener and contemporary tournament.

140 bikes have been assigned to clubs in Ligue 2 BKT in France to support the NGOs backed by the teams. This is the case, for example, of the French association Vélocità, which promotes transport by bike. In recent weeks it has received 10 BKT bikes from the Sponsor and from the French club AC Ajaccio to support its projects.

Not just sport. 31 BKT bikes were then delivered to the Italian recreational and educational spaces for children of Fondazione Cesvi, the humanitarian organization which operates worldwide to promote global solidarity. The bikes are for organization’s workers and operators as well as for children and young people, who are beneficiaries of the activities.

Again in Italy, BKT donated 204 bikes to Fiera Milano exhibition center. These bikes will be made available to employees to facilitate zero-emission mobility inside and outside the exhibition center.

But that is not the end of it, as in coming months a similar number of bikes will be donated to other associations and clubs in Europe.

100 bikes will be sent to Kabubu, the French association which promotes the social inclusion of refugees and will use the bikes to organize sustainable tours of Paris led by the refugees who are supported by the NGO.
Finally, as Premium Partner, BKT will donate a further 225 bikes to Euroleague Basketball which organizes the two most prestigious basketball competitions in Europe, the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the 7DAYS EuroCup. The bikes will be donated to the NGOs of One Team, EuroLeague Basketball’s CSR program which uses basketball to achieve real social impact on the communities where it operates.
