Produced with renewable feedstock, Nynas’ biobased tire oil NYTEX® BIO 6200 has been ranked as one of the most important sustainability projects by the European Rubber Journal (ERJ). Extensive studies at Nynas’ Rubber Compounding Lab have provided promising results for the performance of key properties, confirming that the biobased oil will perform at least as well as conventional mineral tire oils, while adding significant value with regard to raw material sustainability.

ASF, Mercedes-Benz, Pyrum Innovations AG and WITTE Automotive successfully closed a material cycle to produce automotive components from mass-balanced plastics. Michelin unveils the world’s first two tires approved for road use containing 45% and 58% of sustainable materials, respectively
Michelin, the principal owner of Scandinavian Enviro System is the first tire manufacturer in the world to unveil tires with a high proportion of environmentally sustainable materials that have been approved for use on ordinary road vehicles. These include a tire for buses and a tire for cars, where the car tire contains recovered carbon black from Enviro, among other materials.

The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) announced Carbon’s EPU 44 has won the 2022 Polyurethane Innovation Award. The Innovation Award is renowned throughout the polyurethane industry and recognizes companies and individuals whose visions and perseverance bring new innovative, life-enhancing products, technologies, and initiatives to the marketplace.

Yokohama Tire Corporation announced it will implement a price increase on its commercial truck tires sold in the U.S., effective November 1. The increase is due to continued rise in costs associated with operations.
