SUMMARY:Endurica Workshop: Characterizing Elastomer Fatigue Behavior for Analysis and Engineering
DESCRIPTION:April 10 @ 9:00 am – April 12 @ 5:00 pm\n\n\nLocation: This course is available in-person only at Axel Products Inc. – 2255 S. Industrial Hwy.\, Ann Arbor\, MI 48104.\n– 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily \nCourse Overview: Learn the essential principles and practices of material characterization for fatigue life prediction\, and strategies and procedures for planning effective fatigue test programs as well as making effective use of crack nucleation and fracture mechanics tools. The live\, online delivery of our Characterizing Elastomer Fatigue Behavior for Analysis and Engineering workshop includes lectures and exercises for a thorough understanding of the science behind Endurica’s workflow and software solutions. This course is a LIVE training event and a link to the presentation of each class will be made available to registrants for their reference/review. These links will be active for seven days after the class date so attendees will have time to make up classes they may not be able to attend live. This course will NOT be distributed or broadcast beyond this time period. \nCourse Objectives\n– Know the physics and factors that govern the fatigue behavior of rubber\n– Use accurate models and efficient procedures to characterize fatigue behavior\n– Take advantage of test strategies that minimize risk and maximize productivity\n– Use crack nucleation and fracture mechanics approaches effectively\n– Use characterization to inform accurate fatigue calculations\n– Use characterization to diagnose and solve development issues \nCourse Outline \n– Introduction\n– Elastomers as Engineered Materials\n– Stress-Strain Module\n– Basic Concepts in Elastomer Fatigue\n– Strategy in Fatigue Testing\n– Core Fatigue Module\n– Intrinsic Strength Module\n– Reliability\n– Nonrelaxing Fatigue Module (Strain crystallizing and amorphous rubbers)\n– Rubber’s Fatigue Design Envelope\n– Thermal Module\n– Ageing Module\n– Creep Module\n– Cyclic Softening Module\n– Fatigue Analysis \nPrice: $1\,895 Member / $1\,995 Non-member \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER. \nInstructor: Dr. William V. Mars\, P.E.\, President of Endurica LLC\nBio: Dr. Will Mars is the founder and President of Endurica LLC\, the global leader in durability management solutions for rubber. Endurica’s testing and simulation solutions bring unmatched speed and accuracy to product development organizations\, enabling them to compete and win on durability. Dr. Mars has received several awards for his scientific contributions and innovations\, including the 2017 Rubber Division ACS Arnold Smith Special Service Award\, the 2007 Sparks Thomas award of the ACS Rubber Division\, and the 1999 Henry Fuchs award of the SAE Fatigue Design & Evaluation committee. Dr. Mars is the editor of the journal Rubber Chemistry & Technology\, and past editor of Tire Science & Technology with 50+ peer-reviewed publications and four patents. His experiences and contributions span a topic range including material characterization\, product evaluation\, constitutive modeling\, crack nucleation\, fracture mechanics and fatigue life prediction methods.
