Engel reducing CO2 emissions through digitalization

At the live e-symposium 2021 from June 22-24, Engel is bridging the gap between two major trends of our time: digitalization and sustainability. “What we need is a change in the mindset,” as Dr. Stefan Engleder, CEO of the Engel Group, emphasizes in his keynote speech at the opening of the three-day in-house exhibition and accompanying conference. “We have a broad spectrum of mature digital solutions at our disposal. Now it’s a matter of leveraging this to operate injection molding production with a view to sustainability.” Engel takes a holistic view of the entire product life cycle, from the design and production through to recycling; this is another aspect that the live e-symposium 2021 makes clear.

Engel again operating at full capacity

Shortly before the start of the live e-symposium 2021, event host Engel gave an optimistic outlook for the current fiscal year. “Our order books are as full as they last were in 2018,” reported CEO Dr. Stefan Engleder. “We have genuinely sky-rocketed out of the crisis.” At the same time, new challenges await the injection molding machine manufacturer and system solution provider from Austria, above all the current supply bottlenecks in raw materials and components. “We have evolved during the crisis,” said Engleder. “We will master the challenges that lie ahead well.”

ENGEL hands over 100th injection molding machine to MTA in Italy

MTA relied on ENGEL tie-bar-less technology right from the outset. The very first ENGEL machine delivered to MTA in Italy in 1996 was a tie-bar-less model from the ES series, the forerunner of today’s victory machines. There are now nearly 60 ENGEL machines in Codogno. MTA operates other ENGEL machines in Slovakia, Morocco and Brazil. The victory is the machine model of choice in all plants. From tiny plug-in fuses, connectors, fuse holders and radiator caps to complete power distribution units, MTA covers a very wide range of electrical and electronic products for the automotive, motorcycle, commercial vehicle and off-highway verhicle industries. Set-up work is correspondingly frequent, and this is where the tie-bar-less clamping unit of the victory machines proves to offer a clear-cut efficiency advantage. The short set-up times lead to a high utilization of the machines
