Commercial vehicle air spring from Continental can withstand range of temperatures

Continental will present its new N7 air spring systems for commercial vehicle applications from September 10 to 14 at Automechanika (booth FOR.0 A03), the most important industry and trade show for the automotive aftermarket. The technology company is using the Frankfurt trade show to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness and high performance of its N7 air springs for the aftermarket, fleet, haulage and workshop customers.

Goodyear reports positive second quarter

oodyear’s second quarter 2024 sales were $4.6 billion with tire unit volumes totaling 40.1 million. Second quarter 2024 Goodyear net income was $85 million (30 cents per share) compared to a Goodyear net loss of $208 million (73 cents per share loss) a year ago. The year over year improvement was driven by increases in segment operating income. The second quarter of 2024 included several significant items including, on a pre-tax basis, a benefit of $96 million from asset and other sales, Goodyear Forward costs of $40 million and rationalization charges of $19 million. The second quarter of 2023 included pre-tax rationalization charges of $72 million and a $51 million benefit from asset and other sales. Goodyear Forward costs are comprised of advisory, legal and consulting fees and costs associated with planned asset sales.

MARPG scholarship applications close August 4th

The MARPG Scholarship is officially open for applications. As a membership benefit, members can sponsor one scholarship applicant. The applicant does not have to be a member’s child, but can be any current or incoming college student, which could be a relative, neighbor, or ANYONE in your community. Preference will be given to students majoring in Science, Technology, or Business, but all majors will be considered. The number of scholarship awards and amount awarded will depend on the number of qualified applicants and donations.
