Elkem has been awarded Platinum rating on sustainability transparency from EcoVadis, one of the world’s largest and most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings. This positions Elkem among the top 1% of the companies evaluated worldwide. In 2023, Elkem completed the world’s first pilot for carbon capture at a silicon smelter in Rana, Norway, with capture rates up to 95%. Elkem also recently received public support for their Sicalo-project, Silicon production with carbon looping, which may eliminate all carbon emissions from their silicon production, if realised.
The Platinum rating for 2024 is an upgrade from Elkem’s Gold rating in 2023.

Jeremy’s journey in the tire industry began at just 17 years old, when he started working in tire and service industry. Over the years, he has amassed a wealth of experience, earning a diploma from AC-Delco automotive technical college and an ASE Master Tech certification. His early hands-on experience led him to various operational and service sales positions, building a strong foundation for his future career.

New TPE materials have been developed with higher levels of post–consumer recyclate (PCR) content. TPEs with 20 to 75% PCR content are available in hardness range 40 to 95 Shore A. Various color options are available, including natural. Compared to equivalent virgin TPE grades, these PCR grades enable a product carbon footprint (PCF) reduction of up to 35%.

Parker Hannifin Corporation announced it has signed an agreement to divest its North America Composites and Fuel Containment (CFC) Division to private investment firm SK Capital Partners. With the completion of this transaction the company will have successfully divested businesses and product lines over the past three years that total nearly $450 million in annual sales. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.

Titan International Inc. (Titan) will be introducing larger sizes of the existing Goodyear R14T tire for use on sprayers and combines. The new Goodyear R14T product lines will be on site at the 2024 Farm Progress Show, August 27-29 in Boone, Iowa at the Titan booth.

Hexpol Compounding Americas has named Mark Ramsey as its Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) effective August 12, 2024. Ramsey will replace Ellen Clunk who departed HCA in early August. Ramsey will join Bruce Wynd, Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Chan, Chief Operations Officer, Drew Dubois, Chief Financial Officer, Todd Mowery, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Kevin Park, Director of Pricing and Business Analysis on the HCA Executive Leadership Team supporting Moore.

Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) is equipping the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé with the UUHP (Ultra Ultra High Performance) tire Ventus S1 evo. In keeping with the highly dynamic handling characteristics of the all-wheel-drive sports car developing up to 430 kW/585 hp, the tire has a bespoke sports pattern and a modified tread mixture, which guarantee maximum grip even in extreme driving situations. The OEM approval including the “MO1” label on the tire wall marks the first partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Hankook.
