Yokohama Rubber to supply Geolandar tires to team Mitsubishi Ralliart in the Asia Cross Country Rally

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that it will supply its GEOLANDAR M/T G003 mud-terrain tires for SUVs and pickup trucks to Team MITSUBISHI RALLIART for its participation in this year’s Asia Cross Country Rally (hereafter AXCR), Asia’s largest cross country rally, which is scheduled to be held during August 11–17. In 2022, Team MITSUBISHI RALLIART captured the overall championship on GEOLANDAR M/T G003 tires and aims to reclaim the championship this year.

Continental and Pyrum partner for recovered carbon black from end-of-life tires

Continental has concluded a long-term purchase agreement with Pyrum Innovations, a specialist in the thermolysis technology of end-of-life tires, for particularly high-quality carbon black (rCB) recovered from end-of-life tires. Continental intends to use recovered carbon black in the series production of passenger car tires in the future. The two companies are thus intensifying their cooperation. The premium tire manufacturer had already signed a development agreement with Pyrum Innovations in 2022. Since then both companies share the common goal to further optimize and expand the recycling of end-of-life tires through pyrolysis.

Continental upgrades Tough RuNR air springs with natural rubber

Continental has upgraded its material compound for commercial vehicle air springs and will present its Tough RuNR air springs at the IAA Transportation in Hanover in September. In this product, the company’s material experts within the ContiTech group sector have substituted synthetic rubber with natural rubber that has been improved thanks to the addition of ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM). As a result, the rubber compound’s carbon footprint has been reduced by more than 50 percent compared with conventional air springs.
