The machine manufacturer will be showcasing product examples and press concepts at the DKT from 1 to 4 July in Nuremberg in Hall 9, Stand 9-517.

In addition to the customized presses, Wickert also offers its customers a comprehensive range of services. This begins as early as the component development stage, followed by concept and feasibility studies if required. The machine manufacturer also takes on the overall planning and general contracting of the systems – also as part of turnkey solutions on request.

Leiden University researchers create a rubber computer

In electronics, digital bits are used to perform calculations, involving complex circuits consisting of many elements. The researchers have found an alternative strategy to compute, using slender rubber elements as mechanical bits, and assembling multiple bits together in a ‘metamaterial’. But to get these materials to work as machines, they found that the key is to control the interactions between these individual bits.

KraussMaffei Automation relocates to corporate headquarters in Parsdorf

KraussMaffei Automation (KMA) has a new address: After 38 years at the Schwaig site (Germany), more than 150 KraussMaffei Automation employees left their previous location in the first quarter of 2024 and moved to the KraussMaffei headquarters in Parsdorf.

All office and shop-floor jobs were relocated, along with all items of stock. The KMA technical center was also integrated into the injection molding technical center at the same location. In just a few weeks, the entire production, warehouse and office workstations were successfully relocated to KraussMaffei’s Parsdorf headquarters, thanks to the great efforts of all the departments involved.

Lanxess reduces carbon footprint in Arkansas

LANXESS Corporation announces an agreement with its utility provider, Entergy Arkansas, to significantly reduce emissions related to powering the company’s sites in Arkansas.

The new agreement reduces LANXESS’ Scope 2 emissions – external energy sources – by utilizing a combination of clean and renewable energy produced in Arkansas. The company’s three facilities in El Dorado are expected to see an 82% reduction in indirect greenhouse gas emissions associated with the purchase of energy, or Scope 2 emissions, while it’s anticipated that the Little Rock facility will achieve a full 100% reduction
