Goldsmith & Eggleton announces carbon black masterbatch plant enhancements

Goldsmith & Eggleton LLC (G&E), a Ravago company, announced the completion of a year-long improvement plan for its carbon black masterbatch (CBMB) plant. These improvements have been designed to minimize the handling of carbon black and rubber in the mixer, improve ergonomics, and increase batch-to-batch consistency. The improvements to the plant are part of a long-term strategy to offer the marketplace with innovative polymer solutions with a focus on sustainability and a circular economy. In 2023 G&E achieved QA-CER system 2 certification.

Mohamed Noorani, a stalwart of the Indian Rubber industry, has passed away

In 1962, Mr Noorani joined Bayer (India) Ltd. and spent two years at the company’s complex in Leverkusen, Germany. This was the start of his three decades-long association with the company and an abiding affinity for the country and command of the language. Following a thorough induction into the field of rubber technology, in 1965, Mr Noorani was posted to Kolkatta, at Bayer (India) Ltd.’s Eastern Region for the Rubber and Chemical Divisions. He was transferred to the company’s head office in Mumbai five years later, initially attached to the Chemicals division, before moving to the Rubber Division in 1972 as Marketing Manager.

Elastocon announces new model of its automatic relaxation and creep tester

lastocon has developed a new model of its automatic relaxation and creep tester. The new EB 32 model has a liquid circulator for cooling and can cycle between -40 °C and +200 °C, with the same temperature in all 3 test stations. EB 32 can perform testing of rubber and plastics according to ISO 188 method A, ISO 3384-1 method A and B, ISO 3384-2, ISO 6914 method A, ISO 899-14 and ISO 899-2 with some modification (no extensometer required).
The original model EB 18-II-3 also has three test stations with individual control of each station. The temperature in each cell can also be controlled individually, between +40 and +200 °C (up to +300 °C in the HT version). EB 18-II-3 can perform testing according to the same standards, except ISO 3384-1 method B and ISO 3384-2.

Hexpol Compounding to invest in devulcanization line in Czech Republic

The rubber compounding arm of the HEXPOL Group has announced an investment in a devulcanization line in Europe. This allows them to offer mechanical devulcanization of rubber in-house and supports the transition to a circular economy. The new extruder will be installed at the HEXPOL Compounding site in the Czech Republic year end 2024, where it will provide devulcanization services also to the other European HEXPOL Compounding sites to ensure that a broad customer base can join the circle
