The strategic collaboration between Yokohama Commercial Vehicle Tyres and the Pneuhage Group, which began in 2019, will continue in 2024.

Both parties see a new cooperation agreement as the best opportunity to further expand product sales and market penetration. The continuation of the cooperation that has now been agreed builds on the consistently positive experiences of the past five years.

LANXESS Corporation’s Material Protection Products (MPP) business unit has expanded distribution partnerships with Lintech International, Omya Specialty Minerals, and DKSH for industrial preservatives in North America. The agreements enlarge the distributors’ portfolios into the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomer (CASE), and other building materials markets following LANXESS’ acquisition of IFF’s microbial control business in July, 2022. All three distributors now represent LANXESS’ full industrial preservatives portfolio for these markets, as of January 1.

Q-Lab announced that it has acquired Arizona Desert Testing, LLC (AZTEST). AZTEST performs benchmark outdoor desert exposure testing, with a focus on automotive interior materials. Q-Lab has operated a virtually-identical Arizona testing business to AZTEST for decades, and the two companies share a long history of mutual respect and collaboration. This represents the largest acquisition in Q-Lab’s 68-year history.

Sumitomo Rubber North America, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., announces the promotion of Rick Zimmerman to Director of Original Equipment for both four-wheel and two-wheel businesses.

An avid automotive and motorcycle enthusiast, Zimmerman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance from the University of Akron. He’s been with SRNA since February 2013, focusing his time on motorcycle OE throughout the entirety of his tenure.

Yokohama Rubber filed an administrative complaint and submitted information to the Administration for Market Regulation in Foshan, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, regarding six companies engaged in the distribution of counterfeit sports car aluminum wheels imitating YOKOHAMA’s “ADVAN Racing” wheels. The distributors were selling the counterfeit wheels via internet shopping sites and retail shops outside of the Company’s official distribution channels. Acting on the complaint and information provided by the Company, the authorities in each city raided the six companies and seized the counterfeit aluminum wheels on November 2023. Yokohama Rubber has confirmed that all six distributors have been fined and the counterfeit aluminum wheels have been destroyed.
