Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. (Toyo Tires®) announces a new multi-year agreement with the BMW Car Club of America, continuing a partnership that extends through 2026. As a broad contingency sponsor, Toyo Tires will continue to support one of the fastest growing segments within the BMW Club Racing. New additions in 2024 include Toyo Tires extending the contingency sponsorship to other classes with a payout program available for E30, E36 and E46 Spec classes as well as non-spec classes. These contingency payouts will be available for each race event weekend throughout the year

For its new E-Class, Mercedes-Benz is again counting on Continental’s original equipment expertise and factory-fitting the vehicle with EcoContact 6 Q tires. This tire model was developed for exceptionally energy-efficient driving with optimized noise levels. It delivers a range of benefits including a long service life and low energy consumption. To see the E-Class through the cold season, Mercedes-Benz has also approved Continental WinterContact TS 860 S tires.

Enviro’s CEO, Thomas Sörensson, will represent Enviro and participate at the business seminar Sweden-France Business Forum: Accelerating Europe’s competitiveness, which is scheduled for January 31 in conjunction with the French state visit. The conference focuses on innovation and sustainability and among the participants are H.M. Elkem re-started one out of three furnaces at its silicon plant in Salten, Norway. Production will remain halted at the two other furnaces until further notice.
A fire broke out at the Salten plant in Norway on 10 December 2023. The fire started in a building housing raw material, including carbon materials. It was under control by emergency services and mostly extinguished within 24 hours.

Elkem has completed its first pilot for carbon capture and storage (CCS) at its plant in Rana, Norway. The pilot recorded high capture rates of CO2, up to 95%, indicating technical viability of CCS in smelters.
