Settlement agreement helps protect BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tire IP rights

Michelin North America, Inc., has entered a settlement agreement with Techno Pneu, Inc. of Quebec, Canada, to resolve the Company’s lawsuit for infringement of a patent protecting Michelin’s category-leading off-road tire, the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tire.

The suit was filed in the Northern District of New York (Michelin North America, Inc. v. Techno Pneu, Inc., case no. 6:23-CV-1568-AMN-TWD) and identified certain remolded tire products produced and sold by Techno Pneu as infringing upon Michelin’s design patent protecting Michelin’s BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tire tread design.

Toyo Automotive Parts Kentucky facility production equipment to be auctioned off

The 250,000 square foot Toyo operation opened in 2001 and manufactured anti-vibration rubber, joint boots, and other products for automobile manufacturers in North America. Significant investments were made from 2014 through 2018 as the operation purchased Aida straight-side stamping presses up to 330-tons, Orii uncoilers and feeders, Nissei plastic injection molding machines, a Therma-Tron-X electrostatic coating line, vertical rubber molding machines, and a Moriyama compounding line, all built and installed during that time. The full equipment offering will be available for bidding via a two-part public auction. Day-1 will feature Toyo’s core production equipment and will be held live online via a “studio webcast” on April 2nd, starting at 10:00am (CST).

Elastocon announces new model of its automatic relaxation and creep tester

lastocon has developed a new model of its automatic relaxation and creep tester. The new EB 32 model has a liquid circulator for cooling and can cycle between -40 °C and +200 °C, with the same temperature in all 3 test stations. EB 32 can perform testing of rubber and plastics according to ISO 188 method A, ISO 3384-1 method A and B, ISO 3384-2, ISO 6914 method A, ISO 899-14 and ISO 899-2 with some modification (no extensometer required).
The original model EB 18-II-3 also has three test stations with individual control of each station. The temperature in each cell can also be controlled individually, between +40 and +200 °C (up to +300 °C in the HT version). EB 18-II-3 can perform testing according to the same standards, except ISO 3384-1 method B and ISO 3384-2.
