ASTM International presented a Distinguished Service Award to Mike Warner for his contributions to committee D11 on rubber and rubber-like materials.

The award is among the most prestigious honors offered by the committee, conferred for outstanding participation and dedication. Warner was recognized specifically for his more than 26 years of distinguished service and maintenance of international standards for the rubber industry, as well as his diligent subcommittee work.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., and its Singapore subsidiary Yokohama Rubber Singapore Pte. Ltd., held a “Suppliers’ Day” for suppliers of natural rubber in this past May. The event was part of Yokohama Rubber’s efforts to promote procurement of sustainable natural rubber, facilitating the exchange of information and establishing a common awareness of supply chain issues. The May 2022 event is the third “Suppliers’ Day” held by the company, following events in 2016 and 2018.

Apollo Tyres has appointed automotive industry veteran Vikram Garga as Group Head, Marketing for the Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (APMEA) region. Vikram would be spearheading the regional marketing team and would be responsible for marketing and product strategy for all product categories, dealer programs, brand positioning and monitoring performance in conjunction with sales.

Lizette Ruiz Guevara has been made responsible for global corporate communications and marketing at KraussMaffei starting July 1, 2022. She reports to KraussMaffei Group CEO Dr. Michael Ruf.

At K 2022, Momentive Performance Materials will focus on the requirements of modern mobility concepts and will present corresponding developments from the areas of Liquid Silicone Rubbers (LSR) and Hardcoats at Booth B15 in Hall 6. These include flame-retardant LSRs grades for the cost-efficient production of hard-soft composites, and grades that crosslink at low temperature, thus facilitating the production of thick-walled parts. In the Hardcoats area, the focus is on innovative scratch and weather-resistant coatings that can be applied with high accuracy and cost-effectiveness to virtually any shaped plastic part for automotive interior and exterior applications.

Birla Carbon has announced the formal adoption of a Green Finance Framework. The framework outlines the criteria and provides guidelines for Birla Carbon to finance eligible Green Projects through Green Loans or Bonds.
