R.D. Abbott Co., Inc. (RDAbbott) is announcing that Rick Ziebell, Vice President of Technology and Technical Fellow, will be an instructor at M.R. Toub Training’s “Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication Course.” This four-day, university-accredited course will provide participants with 3.2 continuing education credits from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. The in-person event is scheduled for April 5 to April 8, 2022. The course locations are the Kellogg West Conference Center and Hotel in Pomona, California, and M.R. Mold & Engineering, site of a one-day field trip, in nearby Brea, California.

Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) is announcing that Adam Stiles has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Adam has led the company’s sales and marketing efforts since 2010 and became SSP’s vice president in 2020, a role that made him responsible for implementing long-term business strategy. In his new role as COO, Adam will continue to lead the sales, marketing, and long-term strategic efforts as well as manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain. Paul DiCaprio, SSP’s president, is assisting Stiles with the transition and remains responsible for quality control, research and development, and finance.  Adam will report directly to Paul. 

Trinseo announced that plans for a world-class chemical recycling plant in Europe are progressing rapidly. In late 2021, Trinseo contracted with global technology provider Synova and global engineering services company Worley, and is currently working on an engineering package and preparing Trinseo’ s Tessenderlo, Belgium site for recycling operations.

Lummus Technology announced that its Green Circle business and Synthos S.A. have reached a major milestone in the development of advanced bio-butadiene technology. After completing a successful feasibility study in 2021, Lummus and Synthos have concluded that the bio-butadiene technology is ready for implementation, and the companies have agreed to move into the engineering and design phase of the project.

Cliff Stewart has been promoted to Director, Original Equipment Sales of Falken Tires, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber North America (SRNA). A six-year veteran of the tire brand, Stewart is based out of Falken’s Detroit office and works with several Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to earn more factory-installed fitments among their vehicles

Tokyo, Japan – The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that it began supplying its GEOLANDAR X-CV to Toyota Motor Corporation this January for use as original equipment (OE) tires on Toyota’s new Lexus LX SUV. The Lexus LX is being fitted with 265/55R20 and 265/50R22 size tires.
