ExxonMobil has developed a new series of Exceed™ XP performance polyethylene (PE) grades that deliver remarkable mechanical performance with a combination of low density and fractional melt index (MI).  Exceed™ XP 7021 and Exceed™ XP 7052 offer the value chain a combination of attributes that is currently not available in a single resin.  This includes high levels of elasticity and holding force, puncture energy (up to 2.3 J/mil) and dart impact resistance (up to 900 gm on a 25.4 micron film)

Huntsman implements natural gas surcharge on MDI sales in Europe

Huntsman Corporation announced that it was implementing a natural gas surcharge of Euros 125 per ton on all sales of MDI in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India, in response to the unfortunate and unprecedented natural gas price increases in the region. The surcharge will be effective 1st October 2021 and is in addition to any previously announced MDI price increases.

Continental team nominated for Federal President’s Award for dandelion latex research

Dr. Carla Recker (Continental), Prof. Dr. Dirk Prüfer (University of Münster) and Dr. Christian Schulze Gronover (Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME) have been nominated for the Federal President’s Award for Technology and Innovation 2021 (“Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2021”) with their joint project “Sustainable tires from dandelions – innovations from biology, technology and agriculture”.
