Green Tweed achieves ISO 14001:2015 certification for UK facility

Lansdale, PA – Greene Tweed has reached a new milestone in its global Sustainability Vision with the announcement that its UK branch has achieved the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification with BSI.

The Nottingham, UK facility is the first Greene Tweed location to obtain certification to this internationally recognized standard for environmental management systems developed by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization). Led by a core ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) task team delegated with driving sustainability initiatives, this effort paves the way for the company’s long-term plan to achieve ISO 14001 certification for Greene Tweed plants across the globe in the future. In addition, it underscores the company’s intent to address the challenges of demanding applications and harsh conditions with innovative, sustainable products that enhance ESG performance.

Achieving ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management certification is a significant step in the Greene Tweed ESG strategy that demonstrates legal compliance and best practice assurance to its stakeholders with a commitment to manufacture high-quality products and service for customers. It also reinforces the company’s dedication to investing time and money into new technology, staff, processes, and procedures to mitigate environmental risks and ultimately drive continuous improvement.

In 2023, Greene Tweed committed to using objective metrics – informed by an independent assessment rating from EcoVadis – to measure its efforts in reaching organization-wide sustainability goals, from product design and company operations to stakeholder engagement and progress reports.

Furthermore, to support a net-zero carbon economy and reduce its carbon footprint, Greene Tweed will promote renewable energy sources and upstream recycling with reduced waste to landfills to help protect the environment. As the company progresses its ESG strategy, it has committed to measure all greenhouse gas emissions and report them to the Carbon Disclosure Project.
