Synthos to showcase its sustainable technologies at IEC 2022
Oświęcim, Poland – Synthos will showcase its sustainable technologies at Rubber Division, ACS IEC 2022, taking place October 10-13, 2022, in Knoxville (TN), USA. The show is Synthos’ first industry event in North America since acquiring Trinseo’s synthetic rubber business at the end of 2021 and provides the company with the opportunity to present an even stronger synthetic rubber portfolio to the market.
In particular, Synthos will highlight:
Its advanced Solution-SBR for high-performance tire applications, which enables improved fuel efficiency and longer battery range due to its outstanding balance of low rolling resistance and wet grip, an excellent mechanical property profile, and balanced wear and processing properties.
ISCC+ mass balance certification for its entire synthetic rubber portfolio.
Bio-butadiene for sustainable synthetic rubber – available from 2025.
TyreXol recycled rubber powder as part of its collaboration with Tyre Recycling Solutions (TRS).
“Looking ahead to the ban on ICE cars by 2035 in California, we believe advanced SSBR will play an increasingly important role as one of the leading solutions for tire treads for electric vehicles that meet the technical requirements for high torque, higher weight and longer battery range,” said Matteo Marchisio, Synthetic Rubber Business Unit Director, Synthos. “In addition, with rising fuel prices, we are seeing increasing pressure from consumers to buy better and higher performing tires that not only have lower fuel consumption, but also meet other sustainability requirements. As a company and as a synthetic rubber business unit, we have grown beyond our own expectations since 2020. We are very proud to be able to offer our customers a wide range of solutions that help them meet the needs of their customers and their customers’ customers, while helping the industry achieve its sustainability goals.”
During the IEC expo from October 11-13, you can find the Synthos team at booth 908. In addition to new sustainable technologies, the Synthos team is also looking forward to talking about its recognized commercial product range of Solution-SBR, Emulsion-SBR, Butadiene Rubber, High Styrene Rubber and Nitrile Butadiene Rubber – including its newly added products SPRINTAN® SSBR and BUNA® ESBR – Made in Germany.
Finally, Synthos is pleased to recommend two technical presentations by Dr. Sven Thiele and Dr. Klaus Schulmeister:
Tuesday, October 11, 1:30 pm – Dr. Sven Thiele – High Molecular Weight Functionalized Batch SSBR for EV tires
Wednesday, October 12, 12:30 pm – Dr. Klaus Schulmeister- Moving in the green direction with renewable and circular raw materials
