The Bodo Möller Chemie Group appoints Dr. Christoph Schnöll to Vice President of Technology

Offenbach am Main, Germany – The Bodo Möller Chemie Group has appointed Dr. Christoph Schnöll to Vice President of Technology. He takes over the global responsibility for the technology area and with it, the strategic focus on products, their applications and the process technology necessary for them. A future expansion of the laboratory infrastructure in China and the U.S. is part of the newly created position to offer customers worldwide mechanical and aging tests of modern industrial adhesives, in addition to optimal products of the leading manufacturers. “In the area of modern industrial adhesives, Dr. Christoph Schnöll has in-depth scientific and practical expert knowledge and he is therefore in the optimal position to keep expanding our technological unique selling propositions. Our international expansion, coupled with stronger technical expertise, now allows additional customers to master the challenges in the development of new products and the subsequent production processes with efficient adhesive technologies from our portfolio,” explains Frank Haug, Chairman of the Board of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group.

While studying at the Technical University of Vienna and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Christoph Schnöll already specialized in the innovative area of polymer chemistry, focusing on acrylate, polyurethane and epoxy materials. Later, as chemist at the Technical University of Vienna, Schnöll participated in the research of new epoxy-based light-curing adhesive tapes and molding compounds, and two of these developments led to patent applications. Since 2020, he has been working for the Bodo Möller Chemie Group – first as Account Manager Polymers and later as Technical Lead Structural Adhesives. In his new position, he emphasizes above all the expansion of the consulting and laboratory expertise: “We offer our customers high-quality products of leading manufacturers and in addition a full technical service from an expert source. In this way, we facilitate a selection process of appropriate product solutions having the highest quality level. Our laboratories that are already operating in two European locations and those we will also expand internationally are also part of this expertise,” says the newly appointed Vice President of Technology of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group, Dr. Christoph Schnöll.

The in-house laboratory infrastructure, which offers industrial customers valuable testing tasks, is an essential part of the adhesive expertise of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group. Adhesives and polymer resins for industrial use are examined with more than 15 testing methods in the company’s own Adhesive Competence Center (ACC). The ACC laboratory located in Poland is certified according to EN6701-2 (adhesive bonding for the rail industry), DIN 2304 (quality requirements for adhesive bonding processes) and ISO 9001: 2015 (quality management). The merger with Spanish distributor General Adhesivos SLU near Barcelona this year enabled the Bodo Möller Group to annex a second established adhesive research laboratory for southwestern Europe. In the coming years, the concept of the chemical distributor with its strong consulting expertise and own laboratories should also be implemented in the U.S. and China as well.
