Nagase Specialty Materials appoints Scott Wilson account manager

Itasca, IL – A conversation on the hockey rink between two dads convinced Scott Wilson that the chemical industry was one he wanted to embark on his new career.

After serving 13 years in the U.S. Army, Wilson decided to set aside the boots and flak jacket to pursue a career in chemicals. “I was coaching my youngest daughter’s hockey team and I was talking to another dad about careers, and he went on and on about how exciting the chemical industry is,” said Wilson.

With a new goal in mind, the Minnesota native set out to learn all he could about the chemical industry where he’s enjoyed a career for the better part of the past two decades.

Wilson came to NAGASE in mid-October as a Functional Materials Account Manager to serve the coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers customers in the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

“What has impressed me the most about NAGASE is the management and the direction they want to take this company in terms of growth,” said Wilson. “I see so much potential with NAGASE. My chemical background, strategic planning and business development skills will enhance our relationships with existing and potential customers.”

“Scott has elevated his former organizations where he has regularly helped deliver double-digit sales growth,” said NAGASE Specialty Materials Sales Manager Christy Marcuccelli. “His customer-centric values complement our company’s practices. His humor will keep you smiling and engaged.”

In the meantime, Scott will continue chatting up the chemical industry, whether on a hockey rink or atop a bucket on a frozen lake with a line in the water. He’s “old school” when it comes to ice fishing.
