GRI CEO addresses “Sustainability in Tires” conference highlighting the green revolution in the Tire Industry

Colombo, Sri Lanka – CEO of GRI, Dr. Mahesha Ranasoma, was a distinguished speaker at the Smithers conference on “Sustainability in Tires” in Shanghai, China. Dr. Ranasoma delivered a captivating presentation titled “The Green Revolution of the Tire Industry: A Deep Dive into ESG Integration,” drawing the attention of industry leaders in attendance. He highlighted GRI’s role in developing sustainable Specialty Tires and green practices, emphasizing the company’s commitment to advancing environmentally conscious solutions.

The “Sustainability in Tires 2023” conference provided a unique platform for tire industry professionals and stakeholders from Asia-Pacific region to connect, collaborate, and explore the latest advancements in sustainability within the tire industry. Smithers, with its long-standing history in organizing tire-related events, brought its expertise of over 95 years in tire testing, materials, and technology, to this distinguished gathering. The conference addressed critical topics, including OEM requirements, tire performance, emerging technologies, testing methodologies, and materials.

Dr. Mahesha Ranasoma, highlighted GRI’s role in the green revolution of the tire industry, exemplified by the introduction of sustainable agriculture and forklift tires by GRI. These innovative tires incorporate a high degree of sustainable materials, a testament to GRI’s commitment to sustainability and innovation within the industry.
