Bobbie Jo Bailey has joined Specialty Silicone Products team as Quality Control Lab Leader

Ballston Spa, NY – Specialty Silicone Products (SSP) announced that Bobbie Jo Bailey has joined their team as Quality Control (QC) Lab Leader. She’s currently learning about SSP’s manufacturing processes and laboratory test equipment as she connects with colleagues and masters her new role.

Before joining SSP, Bobbie Jo worked for Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics in Granville, New York for 20 years. There, she worked in Manufacturing, spent six years in QC, and then worked in Quality Assurance/Document Control for five years.

A native of upstate New York, Bobbie Joe attended Argyle Central School in Argyle, New York before earning a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Purdue University while working full-time. Recently, she moved to Malta, New York, which is near Ballston Spa, where SSP is located.

As she ramps up in her new role, Bobbie Joe is learning about milling, pressing, and the production of septa caps. She’s also learning more about SSP’s lab test equipment such as our Instron test frame, which measures tensile properties and tear strength, and our electrical testing apparatus for measuring volume resistivity (VR), the ability of a polymer to oppose the flow of electric current.

At SSP, Bobbie Joe works closely with George Denny, Claudia Kilburn, Marty Migliori, Jeanna Stepka, and Malayvan Sayarath. “SSP is a great place to work as the people are very easy to work with, and the job is fun and exciting to learn,” she says. “I feel very welcomed”.
