The Rubber Division’s first WORD Conversation of 2024 to be held March 27th
Akron, OH – The Rubber Division, ACS announces the first WOMEN OF OUR INDUSTRY Conversation of the year on March 27, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. ET with featured guest Tina Darnell and a March Madness theme. This WORD Conversation begins with open networking for approximately 10 minutes followed by a conversation between our featured guest, Tina Darnell, our current Secretary, and Kim Dempsey-Miller, our 2nd woman Chair.
This event will be held via Zoom and registration is free. March Madness will be our theme so feel free to represent your favorite NCAA basketball team somehow or keep the St. Patrick’s Day spirit going by wearing green/St. Patty’s accessories.
About Tina Darnell: This year marks Tina’s 26th year in the rubber and plastics industry. She has held positions of increasing responsibility including leadership roles in technical sales, materials engineering, product support and operations, and is currently the Sales Director at Chardon Custom Polymers. Her experience includes leading in a Tier 1 and OEM environment supporting various market segments: aerospace, automotive sealing, noise and vibration control, tires/retreading, chemical manufacturing, and custom mixing. Tina has been active representing and supporting Rubber Division, ACS and its local Rubber Groups throughout her career. She served on the Fort Wayne Rubber & Plastics Group Board as the Chair and with the Ohio Rubber Group as Technical Program Chair, Membership, Scholarship Co-chair and Area Director. Tina has previously served on the Rubber Division, ACS Executive Committee as Director’s Representative and currently as the Division Secretary on the path to become 2028 Chair. She has been actively involved in the Division’s WORD (Women Of Rubber Division) program and participated as a panelist for the first ever WORD Event during the 2019 International Elastomer Conference.
