Call for Abstracts for 2024 International Elastomer Conference deadline approaching

Akron, OH – The Rubber Division, ACS invites your submissions for inclusion in the International Elastomer Conference Technical Meeting & Student Symposium September 9-12 in Pittsburgh, PA. All abstracts received by May 19, 2024 will be considered for the program.

The Division is accepting proposals for papers on the chemistry, technology and science of rubber and allied substances. Presentations on industry trends, challenges and opportunities are also accepted.

The Technical Meeting will be organized into the following topics:

Sustainable Materials & Processes
Environmental Risk: PFAS, 6PPD & Other Materials of Concern
Elastomers in Electric Vehicles: Tires, Batteries & Other Applications
Responsive Elastomers: Smart, Self-healing & Electro Responsive Materials
Rubber Reinforcement
Polymer Degradation & Stabilization
Characterization & Testing of Rubber Compounds & Constituents
Chemical Modeling
Finite Element Analysis & Modeling
OTR, Military & Heavy Tires
Advances in Materials & Processes for Tires
Elastomers in Sporting Goods
Silicone Elastomers & Compounds
New Commercial Developments

The Division invites Undergraduate and Graduate students in Rubber/Polymer chemistry and engineering programs to submit abstracts to the annual Student Symposium. Student Symposium participants give oral presentations in the Technical Meeting topics listed above or present their work in the separate poster session. Come share your academic research and applied industry experiences with our attendees! Financial prizes will be awarded to the top poster and top oral presentation.

Abstracts must be received by May 19, 2024 in order to be considered for inclusion in the schedule. Technical Paper manuscripts will be due August 18, 2024.
