Use of response surface methodology (RSM) to optimize the percentage hydrogenation in the hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR), filler surface area, plasticizer loading and peroxide loading to create a statistical model that can be used to meet rubber compound specifications for non-black applications is examined.
