Yokohama Rubber’s BluEarth-GT AE51 tires coming factory-equipped on Toyota’s new Camry

Hiratsuka, Japan—The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced that it is supplying its BluEarth-GT AE51 tires as original equipment (OE) to Toyota Motor Corporation for use on the automaker’s new hybrid sedan, the Camry, sales of which were launched gradually in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. The OE tire size is the 215/55R17 94V.

The “BluEarth-GT AE51” incorporates the basic design and materials technology used in YOKOHAMA’s “environmentally, human, and socially friendly” BluEarth global tire brand. The tires’ superior driving, comfort and environmental performance makes them outstanding grand touring tires. The tires being supplied as OE for the new Camry were developed by utilizing specialized tuning to combine fuel efficiency and wet performance while contributing to a quiet ride.

Yokohama Rubber is aggressively developing tires employing its leading-edge BluEarth tire technology, and many of these tires are now coming factory-equipped on gasoline-powered vehicles, hybrid cars and EVs such as a wide variety of new car models, including the latest-model sedans, SUVs, sports cars, and compact cars.
