Star Thermoplastics to become HEXPOL TPE

Broadview, IL – The international thermoplastic elastomer compounding group HEXPOL TPE has announced a name change for its US company.

Star Thermoplastic Alloys and Rubbers LLC (Star Thermoplastics) was founded in 1993 and was acquired by HEXPOL in November 2023. They will change their name to HEXPOL TPE Americas LLC, effective January 2025.

After five years managing HEXPOL TPE’s UK company, Mark Clayton relocated to the United States earlier this year to take on the role of managing director. Clayton commented, “Rebranding to HEXPOL TPE is a natural progression. This isn’t about making drastic changes, but rather about honoring our legacy while advancing to the next stage of our evolution. We remain committed to delivering the high-quality products and exceptional support our customers have come to rely on”.

HEXPOL TPE operates from six locations in Sweden, the UK, Germany, China and the US, with a global production capacity of over 110 thousand tons (243 million pounds) per annum. They have built a trusted reputation for TPE materials tailored to applications where high levels of product safety and technical performance are required. Their strategy has also emphasized sustainable development, enabling the transition away from virgin fossil sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

“This transition unifies the company’s brand under the HEXPOL TPE identity, enabling greater consistency across markets. It allows us to provide a comprehensive portfolio of TPE technologies and resources to better serve our customers worldwide”, added Clayton.
