RDAbbott celebrates 75 years with more than 90 acts of kindness
Garden Grove, CA – RDAbbott marked its 75th anniversary in 2024 by giving back to its communities through more than 90 acts of kindness. What started as a “75 Acts of Kindness” campaign, launched on December 14, 2023, quickly exceeded expectations, reflecting the company’s longstanding commitment to service.
Over the past year, RDAbbott employees across North America partnered with more than 55 organizations, including food banks, shelters, senior centers, and schools. From Garden Grove, California, to Barberton, Ohio, and home offices across the continent, employees found meaningful ways to support their communities—whether by volunteering, donating essentials, mentoring students, or honoring first responders and veterans.
“The acts of kindness were as varied as the communities we serve,” said Keith Thomas, CEO of RDAbbott. “Personally, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our company’s longevity than by showing kindness and hospitality to the communities we’re connected to. Community involvement may have suffered during COVID, but the need never went away.”
Some of the organizations RDAbbott and its manufacturing subsidiary, NovationSi, collaborated with included the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, Common Threads Closet, Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center, Crescent Landing at Garden Grove Memory Care, and Operation Flags of Freedom. Whether it was assembling snack boxes for children, helping neighbors with heavy bags of groceries, or donating pre-paid laundromat gift cards, RDAbbott and NovationSi employees demonstrated compassion, generosity, and care.
RDAbbott team members also found the experience deeply fulfilling. “What a rewarding way to celebrate 75 years in the rubber industry!” shared Lorna Harker, Sr., Office Manager for NovationSi in Barberton, Ohio.
Thomas echoed this sentiment: “We at RDAbbott are thankful for all our business partners and the countless personal relationships we’ve enjoyed through the years. We hope to continue a legacy of service for many years to come.”
