Bangkok, Thailand – In this issue we have a conversation with Henrique de Oliveira Brito, Owner Bristein Consultoria, Brazil.

Your career spans decades across operations, innovation, sustainability, and leadership roles: from COO at Unique Rubber to heading Bristein and c-founding Greenway. What first drew you to the rubber industry, and how has your personal journey shaped your perspective on its transformation?

Brito: My interest in the rubber industry began in 1985, while I was still an Industrial Chemistry student at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. During the course, I had the opportunity to visit a variety of industries and observe the day-to-day work of professionals across different sectors. I developed a deep interest in the rubber industry when I realized it allowed for a much broader scope of action, spanning the entire product development cycle. This included everything from product design and raw material selection to formulation development, process design, manufacturing, quality control, sales, and technical customer support.
