RDAbbott now sells select acetylene black products from Denka

Garden Grove, CA – RDAbbott now sells select products from DENKA Company Limited, one of the world’s largest producer of acetylene black, throughout North America. Under this Distribution Agreement, RDAbbott is authorized to sell the following DENKA products in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Acetylene Black – DENKA sells acetylene black under the DENKA BLACK and DENKA BLACK Li trade names. Acetylene black is a high-purity carbon black that’s produced by the thermal decomposition of acetylene gas. It’s added to polymers for thermal and electrical conductivity, pigmentation, and reinforcement.

Applications – DENKA BLACK enhances the static, thermal, and electrical properties when added to rubber polymers, silicone elastomers, and rigid plastics.

As a high-performance alternative to natural black graphite, DENKA BLACK granules can be used as an additive in tire bladders, belts, hoses, flooring, and footwear due to its enhanced thermal and electrical properties. It provides pigmentation and reinforcement, but its excellent conductivity also makes it an excellent choice for elastomeric static discharge systems and as a semiconducting layer in high-voltage cables.

In addition, DENKA BLACK delivers high-power density solutions for electric vehicles, consumer electronics, energy storage, medical devices, telecommunications, industrial, aerospace, and defense applications.

DENKA BLACK Li compressed powder-grades—including Li-250, Li-400, and Li-435—maintain DENKA BLACK’s characteristics but have minimal metallic impurities. Their high crystalline chain structure provides greater energy density and improved thermal conductivity.
