First of five pyrolysis reactors delivered to tire recycling plant in Uddevalla

Uddevalla, Sweden – The delivery and installation of pyrolysis reactors have begun as planned at the tire recycling facility being constructed by Enviro outside Uddevalla. The first of five reactors has arrived, with the remaining units scheduled for delivery through week 39.

These reactors are central to the facility’s operations, where end-of-life vehicle tires are processed to recover valuable materials such as carbon black, oil, and steel.

“The reactors are the heart of our full-scale pyrolysis technology,” said Fredrik Emilson, CEO of Enviro. “Their installation marks a significant milestone in completing our first recycling facility.”

In addition to the first reactor, the conveyor belt system for tire shreds has also been installed. This connects the storage area for shredded tires—sourced externally and used as raw material—to the process hall where the reactors are located.

“The facility is designed to handle 34,500 tons of tires annually,” Emilson added. “Seeing key components of the logistics system come together means we’re beginning to see the full process take shape.”

Construction activity has been intense throughout the summer at the site, where Enviro is building the facility in partnership with joint venture co-owner Infiniteria. Equipment deliveries and installations are progressing in parallel with the completion of the factory premises.

Infiniteria, through a licensing agreement, has the rights to use Enviro’s patented pyrolysis technology within Europe.
