The Global Polymer Summit starts today with Zeon president Michael Recchio giving Keynote speech
Cleveland, OH – The Global Polymer Summit kicks off this morning with registration opening at 7:30 AM. The Keynote Address will be held at 9:00 AM in Ballroom C, Ballroom Level in the Huntington Convention Center with Michael Recchio, President & CEO, Zeon Chemicals, L.P. . In his keynote, Mr. Recchio will discuss Risk and Decision Making in the Rubber Industry, where he will explore the critical balance between risk and reward in industrial decision-making. His keynote will offer a practical framework for evaluating risk using data-driven strategies, including a retrospective look at investment, human resources, and safety decisions through the lens of a risk matrix.
The first course of the morning, Compounding Fluoroelastomers, begins at 8:30 AM, Room 5, Concourse Level, led by William Stahl. Fluoroelastomers are a class of synthetic elastomers that exhibit exceptional heat and fluids resistance when compared to other ‘hydrocarbon’ elastomers. Fluoroelastomers are used where other elastomers will not work. This course will give participants a good understanding of fluoroelastomers, properties and usage, and will touch on the impact of PFAS on fluoroelastomers.
