Light Effect TPE from Kraiburg TPE sparks design innovation in smart electronics
Waldkraiburg, Germany – KRAIBURG TPE has unveiled its Light Effect TPE series — a material innovation designed to elevate both the functionality and aesthetics of smart electronic devices. Engineered for light transmission and tactile comfort, the new TPE compounds are tailored to meet the evolving demands of consumer electronics, smart home devices, and wearables.
As electronic interfaces shift toward seamless, touch-sensitive designs, Light Effect TPE enables soft-glow lighting effects that enhance usability in low-light environments. The material allows light signals to pass through device housings and straps, supporting features like illuminated logos, backlit icons, and edge lighting in products such as smartwatches, VR gear, gaming consoles, and smart speakers.
Beyond its visual appeal, Light Effect TPE offers robust mechanical properties — including a tensile strength of 10 MPa, elongation at break of 700%, and Shore A hardness of 60 ± 5 — ensuring durability and flexibility. It also adheres well to polypropylene (PP), making it suitable for multi-component designs. With UV and weathering resistance, the material maintains performance over time, even in demanding environments.
KRAIBURG TPE’s innovation reflects a broader industry trend toward integrating style and function in electronics, enabling manufacturers to deliver intuitive, responsive, and visually engaging products that align with modern lifestyles.
