Continental releases new over-the-road regional trailer retread


Fort Mill, SC — Continental Tire the Americas announced the launch of the ContiTread HTR, a next-generation retread engineered to meet the demanding needs of trailer service across regional and long-haul applications.

Built with a lightweight, resilient compound, the ContiTread HTR delivers consistent, dependable performance in challenging environments. Its robust tread pattern and enhanced rounded shoulder design offer superior durability in high-scrub conditions, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of vocations.

“The ContiTread HTR represents a significant advancement in retread technology,” said Shaun Uys, Vice President of Continental’s U.S. Commercial Vehicle Tire business. “We’ve designed it to outperform its predecessor, the HTL.”

Key innovations include:
Rounded shoulder design for increased durability in high-scrub environments.
New tread pattern that resists shoulder tearing and provides enhanced stone protection.
Heat-reducing compound that preserves casing integrity for future retreading.
Precision-engineered widths (200–240 mm) to support long-lasting performance.
