Yokohama Tire distribution center opens in Texas

Santa Ana, CA – Yokohama Tire Corporation’s new 430,000 square foot distribution center in Wilmer, TX, is officially open.

The state-of-the-art, full-service facility, located about 15 miles southeast of Dallas, is LEED certified, verifying that it is a best-in-class sustainable building. It will first be used to distribute Yokohama’s passenger car/light truck tires, followed by commercial truck/bus products in 2022, according to Rick Alonzo, Yokohama Tire’s vice president of supply chain and logistics.

“Building this modern facility in Wilmer was a strategic decision,” said Alonzo. “It places us closer to our customer base, helping get our products to dealers much faster. That was one of our goals when deciding on the new location.”

Stan Chandgie, Yokohama’s executive vice president of sales and support, added: “Years of exceptional growth fueled the expansion of our distribution network. With four full-service distribution centers now in the U.S.  (Wilmer, TX; Chino, CA; Groveport, OH; and Auburn, GA), Yokohama is poised for future growth and takes our existing customer service to the next level.”
