Help shape the future of the rubber industry

Akron, OH – Looking for a way to make a greater impact on our industry? Volunteer leadership opportunities are now available with Rubber Division, ACS. Serving on the division’s Board of Directors or a committee is a valuable way to share your expertise, grow your professional network, develop leadership skills and help guide the future direction of our organization and industry.

The division is accepting applications for the following positions:

CHAIR-ELECT to CHAIR
• 2029, progressing to Chair in 2030
• The Chair-elect works closely with the Chair to help lead and manage the Division. This role provides an opportunity to learn the responsibilities of Division leadership before progressing to Chair, where you will help guide the organization’s strategic direction, oversee governance activities and support the success of our committees and programs.

SECRETARY to TREASURER
• 2027, progressing to Treasurer in 2028
• The Secretary supports the governance of the Division by reviewing and approving meeting minutes, maintaining membership records, distributing official notices and carrying out responsibilities outlined in our bylaws and ACS governing documents. The Secretary also presides over meetings when both the Chair and Chair-elect are unavailable. The duties of the Treasurer include oversight of the funds and reviewing the record of all receipts and disbursements. The Treasurer reports on the financial condition of the Division to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and submits such reports as are required by the ACS Governing Documents.

DIRECTORS’ REPRESENTATIVE-ELECT to DIRECTORS’ REPRESENTATIVE
• 2027, progressing to Directors’ Representative in 2028
• The Directors’ Representative-elect’s duties are to learn the duties of the Directors’ Representative in preparation for advancement to that role at the end of term and to fill in for the Directors’ Representative when necessary. The Directors’ Representative serves as the liaison between the Area Directors and the Executive Committee.
