Julio Lopez named managing director for Arburg Mexico
Lossburg, Germany – On July 21, 2026, Julio Lopez took over as head of Arburg, S.A. de C.V. in Querétaro, Mexico. As Mexico navigates a dynamic economic landscape, he will focus on turning challenges into opportunities. Thanks to long-standing, trusting customer relationships – including international partnerships – and a capable, experienced local Arburg team, he is well positioned to drive innovation, tap into new growth markets and further expand Arburg’s presence and success in Mexico.
Julio Lopez is ideally qualified for his role at the helm of Arburg’s Mexican subsidiary: The 57-year-old studied mechanical engineering and also earned an academic degree in marketing.
Before joining Arburg, Julio Lopez held various positions at the Coesia Group, which specialises in highly innovative industrial and packaging solutions in mechanical engineering, including Managing Director in Mexico and Brazil and Chief Sales Officer for North America.
As a result, he has many years of extensive experience in sales, business development and corporate management, and throughout his professional career has successfully led international teams, driven growth, and built customer relationships.
As North America’s third-largest economy, Mexico is best known as an industrial production location and a major logistics hub. Despite current global and regional turbulence – particularly in connection with China and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) – Mexico remains an attractive manufacturing hub for key industries that drive demand in the plastics sector, including automotive, electronics, aerospace, medical devices, packaging, consumer goods, and mechanical engineering. Mexico’s competitive advantages include costs compared to the U.S. and Canada, a highly qualified workforce, a strong industrial base, and close integration with North American supply chains.
“There is still growth potential, particularly in pre-production for the automotive sector, but also for the medical technology and packaging industries”, says Julio Lopez. “Our goal is to capitalise on these opportunities as a trusted partner by providing comprehensive support to our customers and further expanding our presence”. By investing in Arburg technology, customers receive not only machines but also automation, digital services, as well as pre- and after-sales support – always tailored to their individual needs. “Our approach as a provider of complete solutions will help us maintain an outstanding position in the Mexican market and achieve sustainability as a result,” the new Managing Director is confident.
