Apollo Tyres launches new truck-bus radial tire for mixed-service applications

Gurgaon, India – Apollo Tyres has launched a new truck-bus radial (TBR) tire, Endutrax MD HD, for mixed-service applications, designed for rigid tippers operating across highways and challenging off-road terrains in India. Engineered for extreme durability, maximum uptime and heavy-load performance, the tire addresses the needs of fleet operators working in demanding environments.

In mixed-service applications, where vehicles typically spend around 70% of their time on-road and 30% off-road, tires are subjected to heavy loads, rough terrain and abrasive surfaces. The Apollo Endutrax MD HD has been developed to withstand these conditions while helping fleets maximize productivity and reduce downtime.

Speaking about the new tire, Rajesh Dahiya, Vice President and Business Head, Apollo Tyres Ltd, said “Fleet operators need tires that can perform consistently under demanding conditions while keeping vehicles on the road. Apollo Endutrax MD HD, the new TBR tire combines advanced engineering with extensive field validation to deliver higher durability, dependable traction and longer service life for mixed-service applications.”

The tire incorporates an optimized casing design that reduces heat build-up, delivering 45% higher bead durability and 25% higher belt durability. An advanced tread compound provides 10% better resistance to cuts and chips, while a unique tread pattern inspired by a bear’s footprint enhances traction on loose and rugged terrain.

The new tire has undergone extensive validation at Apollo Tyres’ Global R&D Centre, followed by rigorous field testing in real-world operating conditions. The results have demonstrated reliable performance in durability, traction and load-carrying capability, meeting the expectations of fleet owners operating in demanding applications.

With this launch, Apollo Tyres further strengthens its commercial vehicle portfolio by offering technology-driven tyre solutions that help fleet operators improve uptime, enhance productivity and lower the total cost of ownership.
