Gummiwerk Kraiburg expands portfolio with adhesion for rollers.

Waldkraiburg, Germany – Gummiwerk KRAIBURG is expanding its portfolio with metal-bonding elastomer compounds for roller applications. The specially developed compounds enable a durable bond between the elastomer covering and the metal core without the use of liquid, solvent-based bonding agents.
Solvent-based bonding systems are commonly used in industrial roller manufacturing. These systems can place considerable demands on occupational safety, storage conditions and process control. With KRAIBURG Adhesion for rollers, Gummiwerk KRAIBURG offers an alternative based on a dry bonding system that delivers comparable bonding performance.
The new product line has been developed to simplify manufacturing processes while increasing process reliability. As no drying time is required, process times can be reduced and production workflows can be made more efficient. In addition, the uniform application helps minimize the risk of defects and ensures a high level of reproducibility during processing.
Further benefits include an extended processing window with regard to temperature and humidity, standard storage conditions comparable to conventional rubber compounds, and suitability for both sulphur and peroxide curing systems. The metal-bonding compounds also offer electrical conductivity. The product line currently includes one bonding compound based on EPDM and one based on NBR, covering a wide range of requirements in roller manufacturing. Additional blends for other polymers are available upon request.
