Precision Roll Grinders announces death of founding president, George Maniatty
Lehigh Valley, PA – George Speros Maniatty, the first president of Precision Roll Grinders, died peacefully in his home in Allentown, Pa., on Monday, February 7, 2022, at the age of 84. Maniatty served for 32 years as president of Precision Roll Grinders from its founding in 1969 until 2002, when he joined the board of directors, serving for an additional 20 years, retiring this year.
Born in Barre, Vt., Maniatty graduated at the top of his class in mechanical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. He worked for Proctor & Gamble prior to leading Precision Roll Grinders.
Under Maniatty’s leadership, Precision Roll Grinders developed a reputation for unparalleled technical expertise, capabilities and service. He instilled the culture of quality, dependability and integrity that runs throughout the company today. He opened the Allentown, Carrollton and Lewisport facilities and spread the breadth and depth of the company’s expertise into new areas of service.

He had a passion for this company and viewed all of us as family. We were privileged to have his gifted leadership and he is one of the main reasons that Precision Roll Grinders has become the most accurate large roll and cylindrical shaft grinding company in the world, and for that we are incredibly grateful.”
The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 6667 Lower Macungie Road, Trexlertown Pa. Masks are required. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, P.O.
