Liberia signs MoU with National Rubber Brokers and Farmers Union

Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia Revenue Authority has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Rubber Brokers and Farmers Union of Liberia (NARBFUL).

The MOU seeks to have smallholder rubber farmers and brokers enrolled within the tax net, thus improving and increasing domestic revenue growth in the sector.

It also seeks to ensure that tax awareness, education and campaign messages are designed and directed specifically to smallholder rubber farmers and brokers to enhance tax compliance and strengthen other tax administration processes and procedures relative to small holder rubber farmers.

The President and secretary of the NARBFUL Board, Mr. James Sayekea expressed his immense gratitude to LRA on behalf of his organization and stated that the MOU will help enhance the exchange of information between the two institutions and served as an acknowledgement of NARBFUL contribution to revenue growth.

Mr. Sayekea further stated that with over seventy thousand plus small holder farmers expected to enrolled on the tax net, it will ensure that they too can pay their far share of taxes and benefit from government initiatives to improve the sector.

The signing ceremony was grace by LRA Commissioner for Domestic Tax, Darlingston Y. Talery, Assistant Commissioner for Taxpayer Services Division, Isaac Beyan Stevens, National Rubber brokers and Farmers union President and Secretary of the Board Mr. James W. Sayeka and included some ranking Members of his organization.
