Continental, USW Union reach agreement on 38-month labor contract
Fairlawn, OH — Representatives from Continental and the United Steelworkers (USW) union announced they have reached an agreement on a new master labor contract after two months of negotiations. The current labor contract expires on July 31 and the new contract will begin on August 1.
The master contract was ratified by workers on June 28. The agreement impacts approximately 600 workers at three North American plants: Lincoln, Marysville and Sun Prairie.
“We are pleased to come to a quick and fair agreement for our workers,” said Rick Ledsinger, Head of Labor Relations. “Continental especially wants to thank Emil Ramirez, Director United Steelworkers, District 11, and the men and women at Locals 843L, 286L and 904L for their hard work and dedication that got us to this point. The well-being of our employees is a top priority for us. We are grateful to work side-by-side with the USW and look forward to continuing to provide great products and service for our customers.”
The master contract was agreed upon and ratified ahead of schedule, thanks to commitments made by both sides. Through the unprecedented upheaval caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the continuing transition of the mobility industry, Continental has worked together with employees and their union to invest in our plants, our workforce, and come together to deliver an incredible win for all.
