Momentive Performance Materials is moving its global headquarters

Waterford, NY – Momentive Performance Materials is moving its global headquarters to the former SI Group location in Niskayuna, NY. Its large manufacturing facility will remain in Waterford.

Momentive makes specialized silicone products used in agriculture as well as the automotive, aerospace, electronics, personal care, consumer products, construction and other industries. The move marks the first step in a plan to construct a new R&D center, which will relocate about 200 corporate and technology employees to the site in Niskayuna.

“Moving forward with another step in our previously announced Waterford transformation, we are committed to maintaining a strong presence in the Capital Region and expanding our regional presence,” Momentive President and CEO Sam Conzone said in a statement. “This move provides an opportunity for Momentive to upgrade and expand our R&D/Technology labs to a state-of-the-art building and co-locate our teams.”

While corporate staff may begin to relocate in the fall of 2022, the R&D and technology teams will not move until the construction of the proposed state-of-the-art laboratory facility is complete, which is expected in 2024.
