Bridgestone celebrates 25th anniversary of Aiken passenger tire plant

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations announced its passenger and light truck tire plant in Aiken County, South Carolina recently celebrated 25 years of operations. The Aiken Passenger Tire Plant began producing passenger and light truck tires for original equipment manufacturers and retail in 1998 and continues to play a vital role in the local community today by employing more than 1,700 people. The Aiken Passenger Plant is among the company’s global plants adding the capability to produce the ENLITEN technology stack, which is optimized for rolling resistance and wear.

Freudenberg expands medical device manufacturing at Galway site

The Freudenberg Medical Business Group opened its expanded facility in Galway, Ireland. 100 new jobs will be created there. Dr Mohsen Sohi, CEO of the Freudenberg Group officially opened the expanded site. The expansion is a strategic step to meet the increasing global demand for so called hypotubes, which are a critical component of catheters for minimally invasive surgery. It also enables Freudenberg Medical to develop increasingly complex products to serve customers worldwide.

Ford joins leading companies to call for federal investment in clean aluminum

Amid plummeting primary aluminum production in the U.S., the Department of Energy must invest in American-made clean aluminum to retain and create manufacturing jobs, reduce industrial emissions, and grow a vitally important industry. That’s according to a letter sent by Ford Motor Co., General Motors, Pepsi Co., Ball Corp., Rivian, SunPower and eight more leading companies to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Jennifer Granholm. The letter says that by using investments from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to expand and secure an affordable supply of clean energy, the Biden administration can modernize and grow this industry, rather than letting American-made primary aluminum disappear.
