Brenntag has again been awarded an EcoVadis Gold medal. With 84 points, it is the company’s highest EcoVadis score to date — up from 80 points in the previous assessment.

EcoVadis is one of the world’s most recognized sustainability ratings. It evaluates more than 150,000 companies across 250 industries in over 185 countries. The assessment covers four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

The WACKER Group will be showcasing the first non-postcure liquid silicone rubber with self-adhesive properties at this year’s FAKUMA international trade fair for plastics processing. The product, available under the name ELASTOSIL® LR 5471, crosslinks to form an elastomer with an extremely low volatile content. As a result, hard/soft composite parts made from the new grade can be used in the food and medical industries as well as in infant care, in many cases even without postcure treatment. WACKER will present the product at FAKUMA from October 12 to 16 in Hall A6, Booth A6-6212.

Myers Industries, Inc. announced it has entered into and completed an agreement to sell its Myers Tire Supply (MTS) North America business to Lion Equity Partners, a Denver-based private equity firm specializing in corporate divestitures. Under the terms of the agreement, Myers will receive $30 million, subject to certain customary post-closing adjustments for cash, indebtedness, net working capital, and transaction expenses. The definitive transaction agreement will be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission as an exhibit to the Company’s Current Report on Form 8-K.

Honda Motor Co. is seeking deep cost reductions across its supply chain as it tries to restore profitability and close a competitive gap with faster-moving Chinese automakers.

The Japanese automaker is targeting 1.5 trillion yen ($9.4 billion) in savings by 2030 and has asked suppliers to sharply reduce costs, according to internal documents reviewed by Reuters and people familiar with the matter. The effort includes targeted reductions in several categories of vehicle components.
