Hankook’s electric bus tire wins the Red Dot Design award

The Red Dot Award is an international design competition hosted by Germany’s International Forum in Hannover. It selected winners in Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concept by comprehensively evaluating various factors such as the industrial products’ design, quality, function, and eco-friendliness.

Hankook Tire’s winning product this year is the “e Smart city AU56,” a new tire tailored for electric buses that is poised for a global launch by year’s end. This acknowledgment further solidifies Hankook Tire’s prominent position in the global electric vehicle tire market.

Michelin tires outfitted on Symbio’s hydrogen fueled heavy duty truck

Michelin (co-shareholder of Symbio) provides next generation low-rolling resistance tires that combine safety, longevity and improved fuel efficiency, thus enhancing the total cost of ownership of the vehicle. The aim of this demonstration is to test the low-rolling resistance tires on a zero-emission truck. These tires are designed to handle higher torque loads under acceleration, which are different from those of internal combustion engine trucks. It is expected that the data collected will help determine the improvements needed to develop a tire applicable for the needs of hydrogen trucks.
