BKT president Doug Kershaw to speak at TIA OTR conference
Akron, OH – BKT to participate at the TIA OTR Conference, scheduled in Tucson, AZ from February 22nd to 25th, 2023.
On February 24th, Doug Kershaw, President of BKT USA, will take the stage. His speech, titled “Electric and Automated Technologies: The Quiet Revolution”, will directly address tire manufacturers and dealers attending the event. Doug will outline the challenges facing the industry and how to navigate in a constantly evolving sector where technologies are advancing at a high pace. Furthermore, in his speech, Kershaw will also discuss how the tire industry can incorporate environmental, social, governance, and sustainability issues into planning and operations and focus on the impact of transitioning from fossil fuels to electric and automated technologies.
These are the crucial themes for the future of the industry that Doug will address during the conference with the goal of sharing knowledge and shedding light on the changes that the tire industry is facing.
Doug Kershaw has over 30 years of experience in the rubber, tire, and track industries. He joined BKT USA in 2018 as Vice President and was later named President of the American subsidiary of the BKT Group in 2022. Doug played a key role in increasing BKT’s presence in the United States in the earthmoving, construction, agriculture, and mining sectors.
In addition to the President of BKT USA, 14 BKT representatives from the United States and Canada will participate in the conference, including Chris Rhoades, Vice President of the OTR segment of BKT USA. Rhoades will be on the manufacturer’s panel with 4 others to discuss sector updates on February 23rd.
BKT will leave a lasting impression at this year’s TIA OTR Conference with the motivational speaker and NCAA Division I Hall of Fame athlete Roger Crawford, invited by BKT. Sports Illustrated named him one of the world’s most successful differently-abled athletes. Despite his apparent physical disadvantage, Roger discovered not only how to compete but also how to beat able-bodied tennis players on the court. He then became an NCAA Division I Hall of Fame athlete and a motivational coach who has inspired audiences around the world. A speech in line with BKT’s style and passion will certainly be remembered by those who attend the event.
