Bostik to relocate Schwepnitz polyurethane plant to Romania

Schwepnitz , Germany – Bostik announced that production at the Schwepnitz location will be gradually relocated and the branch will be closed by the end of 2025.

This measure continues the strategy of concentrating technological focuses at individual production locations. The shift primarily affects the PU foam and sealant portfolio for the bonding, sealing and filling segment. In the future, silicones will be produced in Borgholzhausen (Germany) and Oosterhout (Netherlands) and PU assembly foams in Buftea (Romania).

At the same time, production at the DACH headquarters in Borgholzhausen will be further expanded to make this relocation possible.
In addition, a new training center, the Bostik ACADEMY, will be opened at the same location in the 4th quarter of this year in order to further increase training activities for the trades.

These measures and other future investments are intended to increase competitiveness in a challenging market environment.

The plan is to gradually relocate the production of individual products. By the end of 2025, technical systems and facilities will finally be dismantled and operations will be discontinued. The effects on the affected employees are mitigated by a voluntary social plan.
