Bridgestone raises record $2.4 million for United Way

Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) announced its Nashville teammates and partners from across the country raised more than $2.44 million in 2023 for the United Way of Greater Nashville to support the organization’s network of local organizations providing essential services and programs across Middle Tennessee. This year’s donation is yet another record for the company in support of a nearly 30-year partnership with United Way that has raised more than $12.8 million for the organization since 2015.

Apollo Tyres report positive growth for the first half and second quarter fiscal year

For the quarter ended September 30, 2023 Apollo Tyres Ltd, on a consolidated level, registered a revenue of Rs 6,280 crores, an increase of 5% over the same period last fiscal. For the six months of the fiscal (April – September), the company reported a revenue of Rs 12,524 crores, an increase of 5% over the same period last fiscal. Positive revenue growth was reported, especially from Indian Operations, in the second quarter, and in the first half of the fiscal year.

The U.S. EPA grants tribal petition to protect salmon from 6PPD

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is granting a petition from the Yurok Tribe, the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, and the Puyallup Tribe of Indians to address the use of the chemical N-(1,3-Dimethylbutyl)-N’-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine (6PPD) in tires. The chemical 6PPD has been used in motor vehicle tires for more than six decades to make them more durable. It can also be found in other rubber products such as footwear, synthetic turf infill, and playgrounds.

Full house at the DESMA OpenHouse 2023

With almost 300 visitors from the customer base and additional partner exhibitors, an extensive workshop program was offered in bright sunshine on how “Partnering for Transformation” can be implemented in practice. Over 30 machines, including highly automated production cells, were presented in the factory. There were also information stands and live demonstrations from participating partner exhibitors covering the entire elastomer article production process. In addition to various molds and cold runner systems, the in-house mold shop also presented the assembly and production of large cold runners and large molds.

Bridgestone and Michelin publish white paper sharing results of their work on the increased use of recovered carbon black

Following the joint call to action around recovered carbon black at the 2021 Smithers rCB conference, Bridgestone Corporation and Michelin Group have published a joint technical white paper to share the results of their work with stakeholders in the rCB community to develop a proposed global standard to increase the utilization of recovered carbon black material in tires.
