Yokohama Rubber to launch new ADVAN V61 tire for premium SUVs

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., announced the launch of its new premium SUV tire, the ADVAN V61, which will be sold as a new category product under its global flagship tire brand ADVAN. The new product, which primarily targets the rapidly growing midsize to large premium SUV market, will be available successively in markets around the world, excluding North America, from February 2025. Yokohama Rubber plans to offer 17 sizes of the ADVAN V61 ranging from 17 to 22 inches, including tires to be installed as original equipment (OE) on new vehicles.

Toyo Tire receives ISCC PLUS Certification for two plants in Japan

Toyo Tire Corporation announced that two of its plants in Japan have received certification under ISCC PLUS,1 one of the international certification schemes for sustainable products. Sumitomo Chemical receives ISCC PLUS certification for MMA monomer facility

Sumitomo Chemical has acquired an ISCC PLUS certification for methyl methacrylate (MMA monomer) produced at its chemical recycling pilot facility at its Ehime Works (Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan) from the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), an international certification system for sustainable products. The Company obtained its first ISCC PLUS certification in February 2023 for acrylonitrile produced at the same site.

Celanese promotes Scott Richardson to CEO

Celanese Corporation announced that Scott Richardson, currently Celanese’s Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and will join the Company’s Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2025. Richardson will succeed Lori Ryerkerk, who is stepping down as Chairman, CEO and director of Celanese at the end of the year.
